Areas of Practice
Legal solutions for different needs
The firm specialises in Administrative Law, a branch of Public Law governing the organisation, functioning and activities of Public Administration, as well as its relations with private individuals and entities and the mechanisms for overseeing its activities. We help clients to address these matters with specialised support.
Public Servants
Legal matters concerning individuals who hold public offices and positions, including public service examinations, remuneration, duties, liabilities and disciplinary proceedings.
Organization and oversight of public administration
We handle matters involving the organisation, provision and oversight of public services, including public-private partnerships, concessions, permits and other forms of delegation.
We also advise and represent clients on liability for acts of administrative misconduct, accountability and reporting obligations, administrative integrity, conflicts of interest, and public-sector compliance mechanisms.
State liability
We act in judicial proceedings in which the State is liable for damage caused to individuals or legal entities.
Fiscal Classification
We handle administrative and judicial proceedings on the fiscal classification of products.
Fiscal classification involves determining the appropriate NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature) code for a product based on legal and technical criteria.
The NCM code determines applicable taxes, payment amounts, customs regimes, and administrative requirements. Incorrect classification can result in tax overpayment, assessments, penalties, and customs clearance delays.

BEATRIZ VERÍSSIMO DE SENA has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) since 2000 and is a partner at the eponymous law firm, based in Brasília and founded in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Brasília (UnB) and three postgraduate qualifications: Labour Law from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies (IBET), and Administrative Law from the Brasília Institute of Public Law (IDP). She holds a master’s degree in law and the State from the Brasília Institute of Public Law (IDP) and is currently a PhD candidate in Law at NOVA School of Law (Lisbon). As part of her doctoral studies, she attended University College Dublin (UCD) under the Erasmus programme sponsored by the European Union. She served as a Full Member of the Third Section of Brazil’s Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF) from 2008 to 2011.
